Half plate tintype, approx. 4.25 x 5.5 in. Lightly hand-tinted studio portrait of a large dog resting in front of four young men posed together with top hats in hand. The wallpapered room is visible behind the simple studio backdrop. Condition: Diagonal crease extending from top left portion of plate through the heads of the two men at right to the middle of the right edge. Small indentation in plate to right of man seated at lower right. Remnants of adhesive on reverse side of plate, indicating this may have been removed from album previously.
