Description: Grouping of Identity Discs of Royal Marine Light Infantry & Royal Marines, including a crudely engraved oval disc “PTE E WALKER 17633 R.M.L.I C.E. PLY”; hallmarked silver example engraved “LIEUT J. B. BALLANTYNE ROYAL MARINES C.E”; brass oval tag stamped “CH19688 PTE L.J ELLIOT C.E. R.M.L.I”; oval sterling silver disc “Pte H PERRYMAN R.M.L.I PLY.18030 C of E”; 1927 copper penny stamped to the reverse “G McPOLAND CHX 2015 MNE R.C”; alloy issue dog tag stamped “PLY F G SMOKER RM 15974 C E”; another alloy dog tag stamped “CH RMLI NO 253 R”. (7 items) Private Edward Walker was part of the Royal Marine Brigade at Dunkirk in 1914, later serving at Gallipoli and German East Africa; Frederick George Smoker died of disease on 28th April 1915, he served on HMS Warrior at the time of his death.
