GROUP OF BRITISH STERLING, CIRCA 1736-1902. Comprising a Georgian silver-gilt caddy spoon with scallop shell bowl, the fan shaped finial engraved with presumably the Devereaux family crest and motto, Virtutis Comes Invidia, Hallmarked London, maker's mark of Hester Bateman and date mark of 1736, length 8.3 inches (21 cm), weight 50 grams. Together with a pair of very fine Victorian silver-gilt grape scissors, with ornate and detailed cast vine handles and similar ring finger holes, Hallmarked London 1870, maker's mark of Francis Higgins III, length 7 inches (17.8 cm), weight 142 grams, and an Edwardian silver-gilt anointing spoon, overall engraved and chased and with twist handle finial, hallmarked London 1902, maker's mark of William Hutton & Sons, length 9 inches (22.8 cm), 8.2 troy ounces.
