GROSZ, GEORGE] A group of humorous menu cards etc. by Grosz , painted and lettered in bold tempera colors on card, the largest (roughly 10 3/4 x 4 5/8 inches; 27 x 11.5 cm) a gift certificate to the effect that the "holder of this certificate is entitled to select a watercolor or a drawing at any time" dated December 24, 1947, signed by Grosz (the menu cards, very funny indeed offering such delights as "Sumpin French Tongue" are unsigned but drawn in his inimitable style). Minor creases, overall in fine condition. A group indicative of Grosz's lively sense of humor (evident in his correspondence, see elsewhere in this catalogue), rendered with [German] tongue-in-cheek. C Estate of Roberta K. Cohn & Richard A. Cohn, Ltd.
