Four 1920s works published by The Great Western Railway, along with an early Edwardian collection of four works on European history. Comprising 1926 Castles by Charles Oman (first impression), 1925 Abbeys by M. R. James (first impression), 1933 Suffolk and Norfolk by M. R. James (third impression), and undated Cathedrals (first impression), along with four works on Europe's history, comprising The Dark Ages, Europe in the Sixteenth Century, The Close of the Middle Ages and the Ascendancy of France; by Oman, Johnson, Lodge and Wakeman respectively. Rivingtons publ. Each richly illustrated with photogravures and drawings throughout. 'Cathedrals' in original paper wraps, the other GWR works in the publisher's quarter cloth bindings with paper covered boards, the Rivingtons set in publisher's full cloth.
