FIRST EDITION of this rare and important compilation of alchemical texts, including works by Jabir ibn Hayyan, Roger Bacon, Richardus Anglicus, Robertus Tauladanus, Giovanni Battista da Monte, Arnaldus de Villanova, Albertus Magnus, Ramon Llull, Aristotle, Avicenna, Johannes de Rupescissa, Guglielmo Grataroli, Giovanni Braccesco, and Giovanni Aurelio Augurelli. Grataroli (sometimes seen as "Gratarolo") was a native of Bergamo who converted to Calvinism and settled in Basel, where he practiced and taught medicine, and wrote and edited works on medicine and alchemy.
