McClellan, the work interleaved with fourteen contemporary and later portraits of Lincoln, Grant, McClellan and related figures. Faint duplicate stamp to first text leaf, some spotting, else fine; Together with Second Annual Report of the Board of Indian Commissioners to the Secretary of the Interior for submission to the President. Washington: GPO, 1871. Three-quarters morocco gilt, this volume with a blue morocco label reading "U.S. Grant/President" on the upper cover and a presentation label to the President affixed to the front blank. 9 x 5 1/2 inches (22.5 x 13.5 cm); 149 pp. Spotting, some residue to the leaf with presentation label, some rubbing with losses to the upper joint, else fine. The first work listed here was issued at the time of the 1864 election which pitted Lincoln against McClellan and reprints letters in support of the President's promotion of Grant to command all the Union armies.
