Grange Hermitage--Vintage 1969 South Australia. Penfolds Lots 736 to 738 good labels and levels base of neck. Lot 739 slightly bin-soiled and damaged label and level just below top-shoulder. Lot 740 one slightly damaged capsule. Slightly bin-soiled and slightly damaged labels. Levels top-shoulder. Lot 741 good labels and levels top-shoulder. Lot 742 good labels and levels top-shoulder. Lot 743 one capsule damaged. Two labels good and one bin-soiled and slightly damaged. Levels: one top, one upper and one mid/upper-shoulder. Lot 744 slightly bin-soiled labels. Levels base of neck or better Considered a very successful wine from a difficult year, but not an outstanding Grange. Tasting note: brick red. Cedar/mushroomy aromas with some polished leather notes. Touch of fruit sweetness and cedar/leathery flavours and chalky tannins. Finishing dry. A.C. 1 bottle per lot
