Art deco commemorative porcelain wall plate by Rosenthal, decorated with a Zeppelin R III over the ocean in 1924 and so impressed in the border, green printed mark to base, with original hanging cord, 22cm diameter (Quantity: 1) The USS Los Angeles, designated ZR-3 was built in 1923-24 by the Zeppelin company in Friedrichshafen, Germany as war reparation to the United States. It was delivered to the US Navy in October 1924 and was used mainly for experimental work, particularly in the development of the American parasite fighter program, ZR-3 was decommissioned in 1932.
