Chambers Date: 1887 Description: 134, [2] + [4] ad pp. Illustrated with 5 lithographed plates, including a chromolithograph frontispiece portrait of Tom Morris from a drawing by Thomas Hodge at St. Andrews, with tissue-guard, other 4 are duo-tone; plus several wood engravings throughout the text by Ranald M. Alexander. 18.2x12 cm. (7x4¾"), publisher's decorative brown cloth, front cover stamped in black, spine stamped and lettered in gilt with golfing vignettes, original floral patterned endpapers. First Edition. Scarce brown cloth issue; most copies seen in red-orange, also in green or gray cloth. D&M 820; Murdoch 118. Lot Amendments Condition: Light shelf wear; scattered, mostly marginal smudges from handling; very good. Item number: 215439
