Giovanni Malipiero (Padova 1906 - ivi 1970) After studying in his city he began in 1930 in Lonigo to star in Rigoletto. He begins a rapid career that saw him in important theaters in Italy: Rome, Venice, Turin, Genoa, Naples, Verona Arena. In 1937, La Cenerentola, he made his debut at La Scala, where he appeared fine in the early fifties and where he was present in 1946 at the reopening concert after the war, directed by Arturo Toscanini. The international career was hampered by the war, limtandosi to appearances in Monaco and South America. He continued to perform in leading roles until the first half of the fifties, then move on to the next role and ending operations in 1962. The repertoire was typically lyric tenor, including among others, the Duke of Mantua, Alfredo, Edgardo Fernando, the opera Faust by Gounod and Mephistopheles, Werther, Rodolfo, as well as Rossini and Bellini titles. photo portrait of Caravadossi garments in Tosca with autograph.
