Three miniature Sgraffito Pottery by Joseph Lonewolf & Camilio Sunflower Tafoya (1932-2014 & 1902-1995) Two by Lonewolf, one signed, dated 86 and numbered D23EWRCC underneath, the other signed with monogram and numbered A1. The third by his father Camilio signed, annotated Santa Clara Pueblo and numbered 91121TW4 underneath. Petrus Gerardus Vertin (1819-1893) Kaaswaag, Alkmaar (1887) Signed and dated 87 lower right Oil on panel, 30 x 24 cm Provenance: - Auction Van Spengen, Hilversum, 1999 - Private collection, the Netherlands Note: Petrus Gerardus Vertin was a nineteenth century etcher, lithographer, painter and watercolourist and part of the movement of the The Hague Romanticists. From 1839 up to 1840 he was trained at the Hague Academy of Art by BJ van Hove who also taught Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch and Charles Leickert. Vertin is known for his landscapes and cityscapes, but also painted portraits and church interiors. His cityscapes of, amongst others, Alkmaar and Delft are very accurate, but he also often painted fantasized elements of various cities and combined various cities and landscapes. His paintings are on display in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague and the Centraal Museum Utrecht. * Condition report available upon request
