GERMAN SILVER BINDING -- GÖBEL, Sebastian. Jesum liebender Seelen Tägliche Himmel-Reis . Nuremberg: sons of Johann Andreas Endter, 1692. 12° (113 x 58mm). Engraved double-page frontispiece, 12 engraved plates. (Some light spotting, text at fore-edge occasionally just trimmed.) Contemporary silver repoussé, chased and engraved binding with flowers and scrolling foliage on hinged covers and spine with pierced text-block retainers, with similar hinged clasps, Ulm (city mark only on lower turn-in of back cover and lower clasp), ca. 1700, gilt edges. A silver binding with similar clasps and cornerpieces by Johann Adam Kienlin (1661-1740), active in Ulm 1693-1736, is illustrated in G. Jasbar et al., Goldschmiedekunst in Ulm (Ulm, 1990) no.46.
