Oil on canvas, 22 5/8 x 19 in. (57.5 x 48.5 cm), framed with an oval mat (under glass). Condition: Trimmed and mounted to Masonite support, shrinking craquelure from mounting, surface grime, areas of possible mold. N.B. Charlotte (Lotte) Klopsch was born in Germany May 6, 1886. She and husband became owners of a decorating shop in Charlottenburg, Berlin. They immigrated to the United States in 1923 and settled in Leonia, New Jersey, where Lotte became a well-known local painter of gardens and flowers, under the name "Klopsch-Schmidt."
