A very fine and large 18K varicoloured gold and diamond-set triple case openface quarter repeating verge watch, made for the Turkish Market Signed George Prior, London, No. 4051, circa 1800 With gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely pierced and engraved balance cock and foot, diamond endstone, quarter repeating onto a bell, gilt dust cover, the white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, pierced and diamond-set star and crescent hands, the inner case with pierced and engraved scroll and foliage decoration to the border, diamond-set bow, quarter repeating through the diamond-set pendant, the chased outer case with applied varicoloured gold foliage and floral decoration in high relief, diamond-set bezel, the back centred by an applied diamond-set floral decoration, gilt and brown mottled composition protective outer case with two-colour pinwork decoration in the form of crossed scimitars and a crescent, dust cover, dial and movement signed 46 mm., 55 mm. & 66 mm. diams.
