Significant astrological work by John Gadbury (1627-1704), much worked with and of especial interest for its contemporary annotations, including a chart of "A child born March the first" on front flyleaf. Gadbury was one of the foremost English astrologers of the 17th century and a prolific writer of almanacs and other astrologically-related texts. Initially a disciple and defender of William Lilly, he eventually turned against Lilly and denounced him as fraudulent in 1675. Lacking title page, frontispiece, and 3 or 4 other leaves at front, as well as the 10 unnumbered leaves at the end, making it difficult to determine whether this copy is from the 1658 first printing or the 1661 re-issue.
