A printed General Order dated 1 May 1916, thanking the troops engaged in the City of Dublin for their splendid behaviour under trying conditions of street fighting [during the Rising], especially the Irish Regiments.'Owing to the excellent direction of the officers and the tireless efforts of the troops all the surviving rebels in Dublin have now surrendered unconditionally.'
