Peter Kramer/Kraemer (German/American, 1823-1907) was born in Germany, but emigrated in 1848 to the United States, where he worked with lithographers Peter S. Duval and the Rosenthal brothers. His best-known lithographs depicted scenes from the Civil War, and those pieces earned him the opportunity to create life portraits of some of the war's most important generals. Condition: Light surface soil and a few small areas of light discoloration. Light wear to edges. Verso with some spotting and discoloration.
