A Hall Type Writer, No. 9854, manufactured by the National Type Writer Co. of Boston, patented March 1, 1881 and February 16, 1886, housed in a wooden self-carrying case, with manufacturer's plate; case ht. 4, wd. 15.25, dp. 8.25 in. Provenance: From the Estate of Kenneth Erwin, Portland, Michigan Condition: Leather cover on the case is brittle and crumbling and there are significant areas of loss. Some losses of velvet case lining and significant areas of wear.
