Assembled under the artist’s direction, this first major book on the work of Gavin Turk showcases more than two decades of extraordinary sculptures, paintings, prints, and installation pieces with over two hundred colour photos Turk, a British concept artist considered to be one of the Young British Artists, his work examines issues of authenticity and identity within modernist and avant-garde contexts. The Brit artists Gavin Turk Damien Hirst Tracey Emin Sara Lucas, David Shrigley and Jake and Dino Chapman break through the traditional confines and aged perceptions of one dimensional art with their Brit brand of conceptual 3D dimensional sculpture, diorama, life, concept, visual and confessional art. Gavin Turk has created pioneering works of contemporary art using materials such as painted bronze, wax, and garbage. This extensive body of work, which purports to question the value and integrity of a hermetic artistic identity.
