Mounted along upper edge in contemporary mat (slightly soiled), signed by the photographer in pencil on overmat. The Austrian artist Lois Gaigg is one of the most well-known poster designers of the 1930s. He made attractive designs for men's fashion, ski tourism, North German Lloyd, Bremen and other clients. His work is one of the few examples of Austrian avantgarde and his designs have reached cult status among poster collectors today. This is a rare portrait of him posing in front of one of his poster designs. – Minimal oxidation mirroring in some of the dark areas, a few small retouched spots, otherwise in very good condition.
