Winner of several Golden Globe awards for Best Television Series-Drama, you could say the critically acclaimed HBO TV series Six Feet Under was dead on. Dark humor brilliantly delivered by a talented crew of actors and energized by great scripts that scared us, thrilled us, made us shudder, made us laugh, made us think. Produced for five seasons from 2001–2005 it followed the lives of a Pasadena family of undertakers undertaking life’s challenges from a somewhat unique vantage point. One of the lead characters, Nate, co-owner of the funeral home, had an inclination toward motorcycles and rode one during various episodes. Seen here is a factory special that the Gilroy Indian Motorcycle company created and known as the Six Feet Under Scout. The deeply valenced, classic Indian styled fenders and elegant gas tank are dressed in appropriate velvet black and highlighted by miles of show quality chrome and polished billet, while the SFU custom is powered by one of the later iteration Gilroy Indian PowerPlus motors, a beautiful crafted and appearing v-twin of 100 cubic inch displacement. The custom fish-tail styled exhaust burble with a unique exhaust note while hi-tech disc brakes add to the real world functionality of this retro-cruiser. An abundance of accessories include windshield, floorboards, luxury handcrafted leather and studded saddle and matching saddlebags, tool bag and special rear rack luggage. The Six Feet Under Scout’s celebrity provenance is authenticated by the fact that it carries the signatures of the show’s creator/director Alan Ball and cast members Peter Krause (Nate), Michael C. Hall (David), Frances Conroy (Ruth), Lauren Ambrose (Claire), Mathew St. Patrick (Keith), and Freddy Rodriguez (Federico). As the TV series illustrated, enjoy life while you can, so in effect his high profile custom does allow you to take it with you. Without reserve
