Fritz Zuber-Buhler (1822-1896) oil on canvas, 'Her First Taste' approx 50.8 x 40.6 cms, framed. Provenance: Private Collection, United Kingdom and Richard Green London. Note: Fritz Zuber-Buhler was born in Le Locle, Switzerland, he moved to Paris where he began his training with Louis Grosclaude, a fellow countryman from Le Locle who had distinguished himself in genre scenes. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and entered the workshop of Francois-Edouard Pico. He made his debut at the Salon in 1850 and exhibited there over a long career often entering works simultaneously. He died in Paris in 1896.
