[French school] LESUEUR, Eustache (attributed to) A burial scene. Ca. Drawing, pen and black ink with grey and white wash, x 17,6 cm, laid paper with watermark, unsigned, attribution "Lesueur" on mount (mounted on blue paper, min. brown stains). The burial of an elderly man by two young men, overlooked by an older man with a turban. Most likely an Old Testament scene. Attributed on verso to the French artist Eustache Lesueur (1617-1655), known for his neo-classical religious paintings. He was one of the founding members of the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in Joined, 4 anonymous French drawings: Meeting between David and Abigail. France, 18th c.
