It is the same image as that in Knoedler's records which is titled, Hole in the Day. Remington copyrighted a painting with this latter title in January 1906, and the medium, dimensions and description match those of Hope in the Day. As he did with Pool in the Desert, 1907-1908, and On the Southern Plains, 1907-1908, perhaps Remington reworked the painting in 1908." Estate of Helen B. Beinecke
