August 1741-22 September 1742. 1 page, 12mo, 127 x 57 mm. (5 x 2¼ in), chip to right-hand edge affecting several words (not in Franklin's portion of text), tipped to a sheet. AN UNUSUALLY EARLY FRANKLIN DOCUMENT. A postal receipt, partly in Franklin's hand, headed by him "Mr. Jno. Reynel... to B. Franklin for Postage." Beneath, three purchases are listed, dated 26 August and 27 December 1741 and 22 September 1742, totalling 6s. 5d. In the lower portion is the note "Recd. this Acct. in full for Postage..." dated 14 December 1743 and signed by James Evans
