Etching on laid paper, plate size 5 x 7 7/8 in. (12.5 x 20.0 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Toning, holes and tears to margin along lower edge. N.B. This was Benson's very first etching, and he would not return to the medium for 30 years. It was published as a frontispiece for the second number of the magazine The Art Student . The publication was created by the students of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Benson was one its editors.
