Francois Galoyer: A rare ciment fondu over lifesize figure of a penguin
2nd half 20th century signed Galoyer 145cm.; 57ins high Born in 1944 the son of Raymond Galoyer, professor of design and nephew of Marc Jaquin the sculptor it was perhaps natural for Francois to study applied arts which he did at the Stanislas college in Paris. Between 1962-4 he worked in the studio of the sculpting brothers Joachim whilst also studying design and modelling at the Montparnasse Academy. He has exhibited widely at several salons such as the Salon des Artistes Francais, the Salon National des artistes animaliers and the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In addition he has won numerous prizes including the Grand Prix Animalier |Edouard-Marcel SANDOZ| and a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes Francais.
