Original blind-stamped blue-green cloth, spine with gilt lettering. First English edition, preceded by an English issue using the American sheets of the 1848 edition. London: Trübner & Co., 1859. On Democracy: An Address Delivered in the Town Hall, Birmingham, on the 6th of October, 1884. Original printed wrappers bound in modern three-quarter morocco, buckram cloth sides, gilt spine lettering. First trade edition, preceded by privately printed issue for Lowell’s personal use only. Birmingham: Printed by Cond Bros., 1884. Democracy and Other Addresses. Original maroon cloth, gilt lettering. Addresses on a number of political and literary issues. Scattered inoffensive pencil notes in the text. Later ink signature on the front blank. First English Edition. London: Macmillan, 1887. The Old English Dramatists. With frontispiece portrait.
