Includes: Vol. 5 - June, 1963, Vol. XI - February, 1964, Vol. XIII - April, 1964, and Vol. XV - July, 1964. 4 volumes of the rare literary periodical, "Poets at Le Metro" curated by Dan Saxon from readings given at the famous beat poet reading space/coffeehouse, Cafe Le Metro, located at 149 Second Ave. in New York, from 1963-1965. The pages reproduce manuscripts in the hands of the individual contributors. During these few years, Cafe Le Metro was the ground zero of poetry in the East Village. Scarce ephemera from the period, with very few holdings found at OCLC. Among the famous poets of the era that were known to have frequented Le Metro were Allen Ginsberg, Diane di Prima, Peter Orlovsky, John Weiners, Amiri Baraka, and William S. Burroughs. Poets included in the present volumes include Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti Ed Sanders, Aram Saroyan, Gerard Malanga Ted Berrigan, Gregory Corso, Jack Micheline, and many others.
