Rare pamphlets relating to the most celebrated of all San Francisco land claims, "that of Jose Y. Limantour, to some of the most valuable parts of San Francisco" - Streeter. Greenwood notes the first pamphlet as "one of the chief sources of the earliest history of Yerba Buena and San Francisco." Describing the second pamphlet, Cowan states "La Reintrie was rather violently arrayed against the pretensions of Limantour. In this pamphlet he has presented an extensive mass of documentary evidence showing how grossly fraudulent was the claim." Lot Amendments Condition: Some internal foxing, staining and aging, ink marks to first title-page; very good. Item number: 232094
