Handsome printed leaves from the major work of the 13th-14th century French Franciscan monk, which, when printed in Rome in 1471, was the first printed commentary on the Bible. The early edition from which these leaves come were printed by the pioneering German printer Johannes Mentelin, who is most noted as the first printer of the Bible in the German language.
