Four large 3 panel folding posters for the Brown & Bigelow Company, known for their calendars and novelty items. Each poster features lavish artwork by legendary pinup artist Earl Moran. These are advertising posters spanning the years 1938-1940; beneath each illustration is a calendar page for a single month of the respective year. Included illustrations: "Class of 1940," "Show Girl," "Winning Ways," and "Leading Lady." Earl Moran, was a popular 20th-century pin-up and glamor artist. Moran signed an exclusive contract with Brown and Bigelow in 1932, and by 1937, his pinups had sold millions of calendars for the company. In 1940, Life ran a feature article entitled "Speaking of Pictures" which mostly focused on Moran's work and made him a national celebrity. In 1941, Moran helped magazine publisher Robert Harrison launch a new men's magazine called Beauty Parade, and he later contributed pin-ups to other Harrison magazines such as Flirt, Wink and Giggles. Lot Amendments Condition: General light wear, mostly at edges and folds, with a few chips and minor closed tears, some foxing to backsides, "Show Girl" with more visible damage with some heavier creasing at folds, and numerous visible smaller creases across the surface; "Show Girl" about good, others very good.
