Formularium Instrumentorum . - Ars notariatus . [Strassburg: Johann Knoblauch, 20 September 1512]. 4° (191 x 133mm). 3- to 6-line initial spaces. (Lacking y1 and F4 [containing colophon], and without final blank leaf, browned, some staining.) Contemporary half calf tooled in blind with a quatrefoil row stamp, over wooden boards, large quatrefoil cut into the back cover by a later owner, single fore-edge clasp, paper spine labels (rebacked preserving original leather). Provenance : Andreas Milner (inscriptions, one dated 1615) -- Andreas Molitor (17th-century inscriptions) -- Vienna, Barnabite College of St. Michael (title stamp). One of the many editions of a useful and therefore popular compendium containing sample document forms for canon law, including wills, excommunications, indulgences, and guides for notaries.
