William Forde (fl. 1616) was the first recorded English chaplain at Constantinople (from about 1610 to 1614). Lady Glover was buried on 14 April 1612, although she had died in November 1608, long before Forde ever reached Constantinople, her husband preserving her body in bran. This sermon, preached in "a pleasant garden, under a lofty Cypresse tree", contains information on Turkish funeral customs.
