Follower of Jacob van Ruisdael (Dutch, c. 1628-1682) Landscape with Dunes and Figures on a Path Unsigned, red wax seals on the reverse. Oil on panel, 20 5/8 x 26 3/4 in. (52.4 x 67.9 cm), framed. Condition: Minor lifting/flaking, abrasions, surface grime, partial split to panel, fine craquelure. Provenance: The estate of Barbara Green, by descent through the family of William Morris Green. N.B. This painting is closely related to Hilly Dunescape, an untraceable painting known only through photographs, attributed to Ruisdael, and included as No. 625 in the Jacob van Ruisdael catalogue raisonné. The two landscapes have differing provenances, suggesting that this painting may be a copy or another version made by a follower of Jacob van Ruisdael
