Clark Company Date: 1985 Description: With Roger M. Baty, co-ordinator. 111 pp. Illustrations and portraits. Bound in white lexotone with red and black printing, printed on high- quality text paper. One of 1023 copies. First Edition. "Cowan served with the AEF in Europe in World War I, and had kept a diary against orders. The publication of this diary was envisioned as a small, limited edition in a fine press format for friends and members of the book trade by the publisher. Too many hands became involved in planning production of the book, and it lost its focus. The resulting work, though worthy, was disappointing to both the author and the publisher and did not realize its promise." Clark & Brunet II, 61.
