A fine copy of Florian's renowned translation of Cervantes, who also translated Don Quixote into French. The work is accompanied by the fine engravings of Defer de Maisonneuve who, by perfecting the technique of colour engraving, managed to make it possible for printers to create images with gradual changes of shades and differences in colour intensity. 4to (345 x 262mm). 4 "au pointillée" colour plates by Colibert and Cazenave after Monsiau. Green morocco with quadruple gilt border, spine and inlays gilt, marbled endpapers, uncut (spine lightly faded); preserved in a case.
