Surface dirt; toning of the varnish layer; small areas of inpainting center left (Christ's left cheek) and center (Madonna's hair and face); areas of inpainting center (Christ's body and around legs) and Madonna's dress, lower right (her hand and sleeve) and lower center (her dress). Visually looks like more than one restoration campaign where some of the inpainting does not fluoresce under UV light - including Christ's blue robe and lower left (Madonna's lower dress). Surface marks and abrasions throughout. Frame with surface marks, nicks and abrasions. Losses along edges and in corners.
