Good impression with wide margins. Charming genre scene of a young man enjoying a smoke and a drink. A thin line of smoke is finely etched flowing from his mouth. Attributed to Quirin Boel who produced similar plates for Teniers. Not in Hollstein, but impressions in Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum, inv. RP-P-BI-and London (British Museum, inv. Sheepshanks.with the same attribution. Prov. Peter Vischer (1751-1823), merchant and city councilor of Basel (stamps, L. 2116). - J. Visscher (sic, ms. note).
