Catalogue noteThis large canvas and the following lot both come from a Spanish collection and were undoubtedly part of a decorative cycle.
This first composition derives directly from one of Jan Fyt’s most important works. His workshop made many versions of it – it must have been very popular judging from those that survive today. The only modification is the format: this concert of birds is shown vertically, rather than in the normal horizontal layout.____________________________________________
