Lot of 5. Tortoiseshell case with mother-of-pearl inlays in a floral pattern on front (empty). "A Family Party," double ninth plate case (Krainik #560). With images of a young man and woman, presumably husband and wife. Chip to upper left corner and clasp area on side. "Children Playing with Toys" in the double sixteenth plate size (Krainik #574). [empty] Upper corners chipped, but most tiny. Largest chip is from the back panel. "The Faithful Hound," sixth-plate size with elaborate border (Krainik #142). Same design front and back. Chip from upper edge from left/lower hinge to corner; glued. Back half fine. Contains an ambrotype of father holding his infant. "The Washington Monument, Richmond, Virginia," in quarter-plate size (Krainik #42) made to look like carved wood. Back has plain oval, same border design. (empty) Chips to u.l., l.l. and l.r. corners, and across the top near upper left crn.
