Caillet calls the Fasciculus Geomanticus the 'ouvrage fondamental de Géomancie'. Geomancy was historically a form of predicting the future or uncovering facts hidden to the inquirer using a number of dots randomly jotted down by the geomancer. Fludd attempted to take this idea a litle further and to use its application to unlock the unconscious part of the mind. Consequently, the work is of interest to historians of early psychology.
