Beschreibung:

first edition, title in red and black, 2 engraved plates (1 folding and with 2 images on 1 sheet), 6 folding tables, diagrams, 20th century ink ownership inscription to title, repaired worm trace / a few small worm holes to foot of title and A2-5, just touching a couple of letters on title and 2 other ff., with minor loss, plates with some browning and foxing, text lightly browned, occasional foxing or spotting, [Caillet 4035], Verona [Frankfurt], no printer, 1687 bound with Tabulæ Geomanticæ, seu Liber Singularis de Tribus Ultimis, 2 folding tables at start, diagrams, [Caillet 10515], Frankfurt, sumptibus Joannis Davidis Zunneri, 1693, modern half calf, spine faded, 8vo *** Both works are rare. Caillet calls the Fasciculus Geomanticus the 'ouvrage fondamental de Géomancie'. Geomancy was historically a form of predicting the future or uncovering facts hidden to the inquirer using a number of dots randomly jotted down by the geomancer. Fludd attempted to take this idea a litle further and to use its application to unlock the unconscious part of the mind. Consequently, the work is of interest to historians of early psychology.
