"I have only a moment to say that if the Bill passes, it shall be in due consideration. I had not supposed the Bill was likely to pass and hence had given the subject little or no consideration or reflection." -- FILLMORE AND CABINET. Dated autograph signatures of President Millard Fillmore and his Cabinet, 2 pp., 6 x 7 in., February 22-26, 1853. Comprises: Millard Fillmore, Edward Everett C.M. Conrad, John P. Kennedy, S.D. Hubbard, Thomas Corwin, J.J. Crittendon and Alexander H.H. Stuart. A clipped signature of Daniel Webster, who preceded Everett as Secretary of State, is included. The signature of General Samuel Cooper is at the end of the second leaf. With a portrait engraving of Fillmore. (4)
