When in August 1923 Scheurich became seriously ill the model was still in his studio and the figure of the man was offered for sale without its companion. Two years later, Scheurich's wife, Käthe, offered the figure of the lady to the manufactory and it was produced in porcelain in October 1926 and the first was sold in December 1927. Because of his ongoing illness, Paul Scheurich did not supply a design for the decoration (Rafael 1995a, pp. 62063, no. 21).
