Fauré, Gabriel. GOOD COLLECTION OF TWENTY-ONE AUTOGRAPH LETTERS AND CARDS SIGNED ("GABRIELFAURÉ") to Gallet, M. and Mme Beaunier, Gabriel Astruc, and unidentified concert agents, including an autograph musical quotation from "Prométhée" (enclosed in his letter of 6 September 1921), several early letters to Gallet, one mentioning Flaubert, writing about his music, preparations for the première of Pénélope (pointing out that rehearsals, especially for other works, on the day of the performance should not exhaust the orchestra), writing frequently about plans for concerts, including many revisions to programmes (replacing several pieces with his Valse-caprice no.3, Seventh Nocturne, the Barcarolle in E-flat, and the Third Impromptu as "plus recent et plus intéréssante"); Fauré also discusses the Sonate (1907), the "Chanson d'Eve" (1910), "Caligula", including a list of his works to be included in a collection ("Dolly, Sicilienne...Shylock..."), examinations at the Conservatoire, an article in the Journal de Débats, concerts in Bordeaux, complaining about Mme Colonne, advising that Mme Beaunier should not perform unless her success is certain, mentioning Cortot (about a concert at St Lunaire in 1919), his publisher Hamelle, Marguerite Long, Carvalho, Risler and many others over 20 items, mainly 8vo, Paris (13 rue Marnier and elsewhere), some on printed stationery of the Paris Conservatoire, also from Lugano, Annecy-le-Vieux, 1870s-1922 (20 December 1907-December 1922 where dated, but the letters to Gallet earlier)
