Oblong 2° (420 x 552 mm). 20 engraved plates (including engraved title, of 21). (Plates reinforced in the gutter margin, lacking engraved dedication leaf). Later paper-backed marbled boards (upper cover detaching, library sticker on lower corner of upper cover, repaired with extremities rubbed). Provenance : William Helburn (bookseller’s ticket on pastedown). FINE BIRD'S-EYE VIEWS AND PLANS OF ROMAN GARDENS designed by Carlo Maderno Ottavio Mascarini, Annibale Lippi and others. The present copy has 20 numbered plates, and is lacking plate 2, the engraved dedication; in its place, plate 21 has been renumbered as 2.
