Beschreibung:

.45, 4.75" barrel, S/N 225632 (mfg. ca 1902). Nickel-plated finish, carved steer head mother-of-pearl grips. Matching numbers on the frame and triggerguard with a silver escutcheon plate added to the bottom of the grip frame concealing that number. Two-line barrel address, three-date in two-line patent mark on left of frame with Rampant Colt logo, caliber mark and (BISLEY MODEL) on left of barrel. Smokeless power frame. Returned to factory circa mid-1920s to be factory engraved and refinished. Factory work number 436N is present under the grips on the left side of the grip frame twice, as well as in the hinge of the loading gate. The engraving appears to be the work of Wilbur Glahn with his trademark "V" motif on the top edge of the frame on either side of the hammer. Revolver has about 70% engraved coverage, with the frame showing light foliate scrolls that are thematically duplicated on the sides of the barrel and between the flutes of the cylinder. A lovely example of a factory engraved Bisley by a famous engraver. Condition: Fine. Retains much of the factory applied finish, with the engraving remaining clear and crisp throughout. All markings remain clear and legible, although the patent dates are a little weak. Mechanically functional, fine bore. Grips very good with some minor chipping at the frame junction, primarily on the right side.
