With report no.17426101 dated 12 June 2008 from the Gemological Institute of America, stating that the diamond weighing 13.21 carats is D color and VS1 clarity, with an appendix stating that the optical properties of this diamond are those of the finest Type IIA diamonds Diamonds of this type and size exhibiting superior quality are very rare. Such diamonds have been unearthed from only a limited number of sources from around the world (e.g., South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and India). This beautiful stone is a member of the rare TYPE IIA Group of Diamonds which are known for their extreme purity and limpidity, qualities compared so often throughout history to pure crystallized water, scientifically this purity is due to the absence of nitrogen.
