Geminiani, Francesco A Treatise of Good Taste in the Art of Musick, London: no publisher, 1749 FIRST EDITION, 30 pages, folio (36 x 27cm), engraved frontispiece by Ravenel after Bouchardon, engraved title, privilege and music, printed preface, old manuscript label to upper cover, Dolmetsch Library stamp and pencil shelfmark ("II D 10"), contemporary mottled calf, frontispiece detached, small tears to gutter, affecting pp.21-28, covers worn, upper cover affixed to spine with brown paper and translucent adhesive tape RARE. A copy of Geminiani's treatise was last sold in these rooms on 29 November 1985 (lot 87).
